Trademark Licensing Director
Dale is currently the Trademark Licensing Director at The University of Iowa, a position that he has held since 2002. Previously Dale directed The University of Iowa Athletics Department Merchandising Program from 1986 to 2002. Combined he has a diverse thirty plus years of experience in the collegiate licensed products industry as a buyer, seller, marketer, and licensor of college licensed products. Dale is an active member of the International Collegiate Licensing Association where he is a past-president, two term board member, and 2013 Hall of Fame inductee.

Trademark Licensing Assistant Director
Kirk is the Assistant Trademark Licensing Director for the University of Iowa. Kirk started his career at the University of Iowa in 2002 working within the Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore for 19 years. Kirk served in a number of capacities, including Buying Manager and most recently as Store Director. He has experience buying and selling collegiate licensed products and extensive experience with event operations. Kirk joined the Trademark Licensing office in 2022.

Alex is a Sophomore at the University of Iowa majoring in Business Analytics. He began working for the University of Iowa Trademark Licensing Program and The University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame & Museum in April of 2024. Outside of work, Alex enjoys biking and lifting. He also values spending time with his family. Alex anticipates graduating in the fall of 2027.

Outside of work, Max enjoys working out, skiing, and is a manager for Iowa Baseball. Max anticipates graduating in 2026.

Malaina Elliott |

Malaina is a first-year student at the University of Iowa. She is majoring English on the Pre-Law track. Malaina began working for The University of Iowa Trademark Licensing Program and The University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame & Museum in October of 2024. Outside of work, Malaina enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outside, participating in campus extracurriculars and watching basketball - especially Iowa Women's Basketball and the WNBA. Malaina anticipates graduating in Spring of 2027.

Laney will be a first-year graduate student in the University of Iowa's Sport and Recreation Management Master's Program after receiving her undergraduate degree in the same field. She began working for The University of Iowa Trademark Licensing Program and The University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame & Museum in May of 2024. Laney is a former member of the University of Iowa Track & Field team. She also interns with the University of Iowa Women's Basketball team. She is originally from Davenport, Iowa. In her free time, she enjoys golfing, spending time with friends and family, and cheering on the Hawkeyes.

Sonja is a senior at The University of Iowa. She is double majoring in Journalism and Political Science. She began working for The University of Iowa Trademark and Licensing Program and The University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame and Museum in August of 2024. Sonja is from San Diego, California. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with friends and family. Sonja anticipates graduating in the Fall of 2025.

She began working for The University of Iowa Trademark Licensing Program and The University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame & Museum in November of 2022. Outside of work, she is a member of the Hawkeye Sports Business Association and of the University of Iowa Club Softball Team. Madison is originally from West Branch, Iowa, and enjoys traveling, watching sports, and cheering on the Hawks. She anticipates graduating in the spring of 2025.

Brooke is a member of the American Marketing Association, the University of Iowa Club Soccer Team, and she is a Marketing Institute Scholar. In her free time, Brooke enjoys playing sports, reading, and watching movies. She anticipates graduation in the Spring of 2025.

Outside of work, Madisen enjoys spending time with friends and family, lifting, and participating in extracurriculars on campus. Madisen anticipates graduating in the fall of 2025.

Austin is a second-year law student at the University of Iowa College of Law and has a passion for the intersection of the world of sports and law. He is a current representative for the University of Iowa Graduate and Professional Student Government and wants to be a sport team’s in-house counsel after graduation. Outside of school, he loves golfing, photography, working out, and going to any and all Hawkeye games. Originally from Vacaville, California, he is a graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
