Kirk is currently the Trademark Licensing Director for the University of Iowa.  Previously Kirk served as the Assistant Licensing Director from 2022-2026.  Kirk started his career at the University of Iowa in 2002 working within the Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore for 19 years. He served in a number of capacities within the Iowa Hawk Shop, including Operations Manager, Buying Manager and Store Director.  He has experience buying and selling collegiate licensed products and extensive experience with event operations. 

In addition to his Trademark Licensing duties, Kirk is The University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame & Museum Director where he oversees the operations of this unique museum and events center that celebrates the rich heritage of The University of Iowa Athletics history. Kirk joined the Trademark Licensing office and Hall of Fame in 2022.  

Kirk is a 2000 graduate of The University of Iowa.  He and wife Lea have two daughters Reece, and Riley, and dog Coco.  They reside in North Liberty.  Kirk is active with his daughters’ sports activities, assisting coaching their softball and basketball teams.  In his free time Kirk enjoys being outdoors, fishing, home projects, family and friends, and cheering on the Hawkeyes!
